Ghost Pain, Sydney Lea
In this book, Lea explores addiction, violence, and the uses and inadequacies of art. These subjects are examined, not through the trendy lens of disembodied poetic consciousness, but through the voices and lives of actual people in rural New England.
Sydney Lea, founder of New England Review, has published a novel, two collections of nonfiction, and eight poetry collections. Pursuit of a Wound was a Pulitzer finalist in poetry, and To the Bone was co-winner of the Poets' Prize. Lea has taught at Yale, Wesleyan, Vermont College, Eotvos Lorand University (Budapest), and Franklin College (Switzerland). He currently teaches at Dartmouth College.
