2013 Flo Gault Poetry Prize Winners!

Thank you to each and every student that submitted to the 2013 Flo Gault Poetry competition. The winner of this year’s competition is Lauren Hannigan for her poem “Bugaloo.” Lauren is an undergrad at the University of Louisville and was not only one of our first students to submit this year, but she included a video of her poem, which you can view by clicking here or on the image to the right.

Each year this contest grows and with it, the competition. Special thanks are due to Tom Hunley of Western Kentucky University who encourages bundles of students to send in their work and from those bundles we awarded four WKU students with honorable mentions this year!

And we’d also like to thank Carolyn Romano and James Pfeiffer who also submitted videos of themselves reading their work.

We hope to see each contestant at the pie party this year and if you’re a freshman, sophomore, or junior, we hope to see new poems in 2014!
