Ann Townsend, our 2013–and first ever–Writer-in-Residence gave a reading at Bernheim’s Visitor Center this past Sunday, August 11. The happy but slightly perspiring audience had the pleasure of hearing new and previously published work by Townsend after which she answered questions about her work, the source of her inspiration, and what her major distractions have been while in Kentucky. This is Townsend’s last week at Bernheim–the residency is a stay of either two to four weeks during the summer–the second of two short weeks that she could sneak away from her own personal gardening and her responsibilities as the English Department Chair at Denison University. We’ll have more from Townsend and her stay at Bernheim shortly. Stay tuned.
