SWL Poetry Reading

Last night we celebrated seventeen poets from our first-ever Sarabande Writing Lab with a poetry reading at Hotel Louisville. Participants read original poems to an audience of friends and community members and each received a beautiful, handmade chapbook containing all the poems written by the class.

Sarabande Writing Labs was founded on the belief that writing and sharing stories is a powerful tool for individual and community transformation. As one participant put it during her turn at the podium, "Hi, my name is Pamela, and I'm an addict. But tonight I'm a poet."

Listen in to one poet's reading here.
