Rick Barot and Paul Griner win Literary Awards

The literary awards season is in progress, and we're happy to announce two more winners among the Sarabande authors. This past week, both Rick Barot and Paul Griner won literary awards for books they've published with us at Sarabande.

Rick Barot, for his endlessly commendable book of poetry Chord, has just won the 2016 Publishing Triangle Thomas Gunn Award. Publishing Triangle is an organization celebrating and furthering LGBT literature, and the Thomas Gunn Award is given yearly to the best collection of poetry by a gay writer. Rick Barot was also recently the recipient of the 2016 PEN/Open Book Award and the 2016 UNT Rilke Prize

Paul Griner has been awarded the 2016 Kentucky Literary Award for his book of short stories Hurry Please I Want to Know. The Kentucky Literary Award is given annually to a work of literature featuring a Kentucky theme or written by an author born or living in Kentucky. Griner is a resident of Louisville, KY, and a professor at the University of Louisville.
