Briefly Noted: O Magazine's "Ten Titles", Pub Day for MALAFEMMENA, & Internship Opportunities

  • This week, Matthew Neill Null's short story collection, Allegheny Front, was reviewed in the New York Times and named one of "10 Titles to Pick Up Now" by O, the Oprah Magazine. In a micro-review, O Magazine described Null's book:
Nine grisly, lyrical short stories about West Virginia—the booms and busts; the Gauley River and Cranberry Wilderness; and the women, men, and wild animals who "like all predators reeked of the flesh they'd consumed."

  • Louisa Ermelino's new collection of short stories about "dangerous women," Malafemmena, published last week and is available for order! Publishers Weekly called the book, "elemental and affecting, lingering in the mind like parables or myths sketching something vital, sad, and true." You can read reviews of Malafemmena and an interview with Louisa Ermelino by visiting our Featured Authors page.
