"My relationship with Sarabande has been a kind of backbone for my professional life as a poet." —Rick Barot
For more than twenty years Sarabande has received generous funding from the National Endowment for the Arts in support of our publishing and educational programming. Each year, a handful of our titles receive special, earmarked funding from the NEA. Rick Barot's poetry collections The Darker Fall, Want, and Chord, were all made possible through NEA grants. Here's Rick Barot on publishing with Sarabande:
"My relationship with Sarabande has been a kind of backbone for my professional life as a poet, and I’m immensely grateful for the work it has done on my behalf and on behalf of its authors, many of whom I read and teach. During the fifteen years that I’ve been a Sarabande author, I’ve received generous support from a number of sources—including fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation—and it’s no exaggeration to say that Sarabande’s commitment to my work has made that success possible."
