Sarabande Writing Labs, Support Sarabande


The 2018 season of Sarabande Writing Labs is underway, and we are delighted to introduce the leaders, teachers, and artists in our community who will be involved with our writing workshops!

Minda Honey's writing has been featured on Longreads, the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Washington Post, The Guardian, and The Oxford American. A graduate of the MFA program at the University of California, she has led memoir workshops in the community as a Gluck Fellow, at the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Speed Art Museum, for Louisville Literary Arts, the Inlandia Institute and as the South Central Regional Library's March Artist-in-Residence. She is  the LEO Weekly's relationship advice columnist.

Minda will be teaching SWL essay-writing workshops at Louisville South Central Regional Library. 



Tasha Golden is the frontwoman and songwriter for the critically acclaimed band Ellery. Her songs have been heard in major motion pictures, TV dramas, radio, and more. Her poetry, prose, and research have been published in Pleaides, Ethos Journal, and Coldnoon Poetics, among others. She researches the impact of the arts on social silences, and founds creative writing workshops for incarcerated teen women. She blogs for Ploughshares literary journal.

Tasha will be leading workshops through SWL's partnership with Youth Detention Services of Louisville.



A 2017 Hadley Creative, Hannah Drake has shared the stage with Angela Davis, Nikky Finney, and Iyanla Vanzant. Her writing has been featured in Cosmopolitan, and, in 2016, her poem "Foundation" became a viral sensation and won the "Culturally Legit" award from the American Advertising Federation. She is the author of many volumes of poetry, two novels, and, most recently, an essay collection, Dear America, I Am Still Rooting for You.

Hannah will be teaching workshops on stage presence and poetry performance through SWL's partnership with Americana Community Center.

Hannah Rose Neuhauser is a writer and educator from Louisville, KY. Her poems and essays have appeared in Cactus Heart, apt, Luna Luna, Maudlin House, The Collagist, and So to Speak. She is the Volunteer and Program Coordinator for Young Authors Greenhouse, a nonprofit organization that inspires students ages 6 - 18 from under-resourced communities to grow their imaginations through writing.

Hannah Rose will be leading workshops through SWL's partnership with Americana Community Center.



Kristen is Sarabande's Director of Educational Programming. In 2014, she founded Sarabande Writing Labs to support and celebrate writers in Louisville's under-resourced communities. Kristen is a writer and translator with work appearing in POETRY, Kenyon ReviewGuernica, The Offing, and elsewhere. She has received fellowships and honors from Publishers Weekly, Vermont Studio Center, Blackacre Conservancy, The Kentucky Foundation for Women, and Fund for the Arts.

Kristen edits the Sarabande Writing Labs Anthology Series.
