"We live in a moment in which it continues to be crucial to speak to one another across divides..."
For more than twenty years Sarabande has received generous funding from the National Endowment for the Arts in support of our publishing and educational programming. Each year, a handful of our titles receive special, earmarked funding from the NEA. In 2017, Edie Meidav's short story collection Kingdom of the Young, was made possible through special funding from the NEA. Here's Edie on her experience publishing with Sarabande:
“Sarabande serves as a significant institution of our time, bringing worthwhile, innovative, and important work to the attention of a wide population. If we live in a moment in which it continues to be crucial to speak to one another across divides, Sarabande remains particularly noteworthy. The committed individuals at Sarabande work so hard to further this innovative institution and deserve commendation for their continued bravery, openness to new ideas, and respect for a long and vital literary tradition. In its heart, Sarabande enriches our shared legacy; in its vision, it is specific and beyond compare.”
