“You are an elegant mechanic, a site of tattooed beauty,”
she answers him in the odd erotic present,
ratchet, hex wrench, oilcan, spread below
the rising mountain where they lounge,
plush and gorgeous—clothed!
“My shepherdess, I’m here

It’s time to use your eggs.”
His robe falls open to her water silk.
She glances down and sees
the mystery revised. It’s as plain as paper,
