Julie Marie Wade will be giving a talk/reading at the 10th Annual Kentucky Women's Book Festival on March 6th. The reading will take place at 11 a.m. at University of Louisville's Ekstrom Library, and the title of the talk will be "The Personal is Still Political: Writing Lesbian Experience in the New Millennium."
Julie Marie Wade is the author of Wishbone: A Memoir in Fractures (Colgate University Press, 2010) and the poetry collections Without (Finishing Line Press, 2010) and Postage Due (White Pine Press, 2013). She has received the Chicago Literary Award in Poetry (2004), the Gulf Coast Nonfiction Prize (2004), the Arts & Letters Nonfiction Prize (2010), an Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts Council (2010), and the Lambda Literary Award for Lesbian Memoir (2011). Wade holds a Master of Arts in English from Western Washington University and a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from the University of Pittsburgh.
